Congress should enact the bipartisan Save Healthcare Workers Act (SAVE) (H.R. 3178/S. 1600), which provides protections similar to those for flight crews, flight attendants and airport workers.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers across the nation have experienced a sharp increase in incidences of workplace violence, with no sign that this trend is receding.
